the proper analogy is with incest. If a brother and sister are strongly drawn to each other and choose to indugle in a
"safe" pshysical relation, they are ostensibly hurting on one.
There is no "victim". yet anyone believing in G-D would not condone or rationalize this.

further, highly motivated individuals can usually be treated successfully enough to be able to enjoy heterosexual relations and emotional bond with their spouse.

Hmm, I had the exact opposite reaction. I thought Levovitz made some excellent points and would love to see if R Twersky has a response.

wow. i am a gay jewish teen in the closet and i've been reading about all the events going on at yu. the panel. rav twersky's arguements and now this. to mordichai i commend u beyond belief. not just 4 getting up and speaking at the panel but now 4 not just addresssingthe oppisition but literally goin point by point with each and very arguement disproving it. i wish there were more ppl like u.
as for those non-supporters. those ppl who wrote negetive comments on this pg. know this. ur lucky that i hav a thick skin. i hav been able to live in the closet 4 a while and deal with insulting remarks not saying a word. but there r many. so many that feel the pain. they feel the pain as u condem this panel and as u say that rav twersky's arguements are right. and that pain i am afraid to say leads to horrible effects such as suicide. i understand that rav twersky is a gadol and in no way would ever outright kill another human being but i feel that by saying wat he did he may have very well caused closeted youth to take their own lives.
please know that we are out there. if u do not want to be supportive cuz u r afraid it will look bad or is halachikly inappropriate. then ok. but please please please dont ever bash such an event or such a lifestyle cuz this is not something we choose. and by bashing it know that u may very well be causing ppl to die.

It is striking to read R Twersky's words and then Levovitz's words. Twersky is consistent with torah and make perfect sense being in a torah mindset. Levovitz's misdirects, misunderstands, and distracts from R. Twersky's statements in a way that is almost infantile. The most important arguments, such as, "Just because you want it doesn't mean you can have it," are simply ignored. These folks should quit while they're ahead.

Thanks for the feedback DuvDuv, I changed the 'block quote' color to a dark green, does that look better?

I'm sorry you used this light beige color font (for the response to R. Twersky) - I hope you can make it easier to read

I was at the panel and I didn't realize how brilliant M. Levovitz is till I read his extremely compelling response to R. Twersky's rantings

Thanks for printing it at all - now, please fix the color?
:0)

it is totally wrong to boycott or inore such things, what is more-there has to be some kind of law that explains what to do in this case ...but for sure agression is not a big help

Oh, that's an intelligent response. I'm convinced now.
Oh wait - R Blau is also a Rosh Yeshiva, and must therefore be right as well! My mind is about to explode...help!
